St Mary’s church, Tufton.

Areas of the ceiling had fallen at St Mary’s church. After closer inspection by a surveyor, they found that most of the plaster was unstable. We Immediately installed netting under the ceiling which allowed the church to still have services while we got listed building consent to carry out the repairs.

A internal scaffold was installed and the plaster ceiling was removed. The damaged Laths were repaired and we re-plastered all areas of the ceiling. Protecting the historic rafters was a main priority so each individual rafter was wrapped in plastic sheeting.

External render and roof works were also carried out to reduce leaks and moisture in the church to prevent the ceiling having this problem ever again.
